PM Modi's Package: More Than Rs.2564 Crore For Ukhrul District

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Manipur on Saturday, 13 September 2025, his first trip to the state since the ethnic violence that broke out on 3rd May 2023. Ukhrul District will get projects worth more than Rs. 2564 crore including a project for providing Super Speciality and assured Speciality Health Care and strengthening of High Schools and Higher Secondary Schools.

The office of the Chief Secretary, Government of Manipur in a Press Statement issued on 12 September, 2025, stated that “Hon’ble PM is arriving in Manipur on 13 September, 2025. On his arrival at Churachandpur at about 11.30 am, he will first interact with the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the district. He will lay Foundation Stone of various infrastructural projects to be taken up throughout the State at Peace Ground, Churachandpur and will also address the public gathering present there.

“Thereafter, he will arrive at Kangla around 2.00 pm and interact with the IDPs. The Hon’ble Prime Minister will be inaugurating various developmental projects within and outside the State (belonging to Manipur) and will also address the public gathering present there.”

Projects worth Rs. 7,300 crore for which Foundation Stones will be laid and projects worth Rs. 1,200 crore will be inaugurated during his visit.

Such initiatives underscore the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s continued commitment and dedication for the development and welfare of the State.

“Thus, I, on behalf of the Government of Manipur and the Government of India, request the people of Manipur, to come forward in welcoming the Hon’ble Prime Minister to the State and participate in the programme” added the statement.

The visit will focus on development initiatives apart from reaching out to the affected communities.

The projects to be announced for Ukhrul District are:

1. Upgradation of NH 102A Shangshak Tengnoupal Section – Package 1 @Rs. 502 crore.

2. Upgradation of NH 102A Shangshak Tengnoupal Section – Package 3 @Rs. 778 crore.

3. 2 laning of road from Choithar to Marrem Khullen section of NH-202 under Bharatmala Pariyojana (Package-5) in Ukhrul @Rs. 564 crore.

4. 2 laning of road from Marem Khullen to Jessami section of NH-202 under Bharatmala Pariyojana (Package-6) in Ukhrul @Rs. 555 crore.

5. 2 laning of road from Jessami to Laynen bridge section of NH-202 under Bharatmala Pariyojana (Package -7) in Ukhrul @Rs. 165 crore.

PM Modi will also inaugurate the infrastructure creation for District Administration at Kamjong district.
